Facebook's creative laboratory

Creative Hub is one of the tools of the Facebook family (with Creator Studio and Business Manager) created to facilitate advertisers in creating content.
Created in 2016, it is one of the lesser known tools, perhaps because it is the only one dedicated to the creativity of the ad, rather than its programming or analysis.

It is in fact a useful tool for creating trial listings, previews and tests.

Creative Hub, through its gallery of ideas, allows you to discover the creations of other creatives and always have new ideas to attract the attention of the public. Once you have created a test ad, you can share it with colleagues and friends or view it from your mobile. It is also possible to interact as if it has already been published. This and much more in one free tool.

Create test listings
Creative Hub was created to be a tool for experimenting with new formats and types of posts. In fact, real test ads can be created for Instagram and Facebook. Find inspiration
In a section of the platform it is possible to view advertisements created by others and shared from which you can take inspiration for the creation of a new advertisement. It also lets you know their formats, proportions, dimensions and other data to recreate them.

Collaborate and share
Precisely because it is often when you combine several ideas that you can create something truly original, with this tool you can organize your test listings in folders and invite other colleagues to collaborate. In addition, it is possible to share the ad link with other people, allowing them to view it.

Import into Business Manager
With a link, you can import the test ad in the Business Manager in the Ads Management. It therefore does not have to be recreated from scratch.

Check the percentage of text
Finally, with this tool it is possible to check the percentage of text in the images. Until recently, Facebook did not allow the publication of advertisements that contained more than 20% of writings. This rule was then abolished but the social network continues to penalize images that have a large volume of text inside them. Precisely for this reason, the verification tool can be useful to avoid that your post has a too low optimization score.

Ready, go! Instructions for use!

Creative Hub can be accessed from the Business Manager by clicking on the “Planning” section in the menu at the top right.

To create a test listing, there is a special green button at the top right.
Clicking it will open a drop-down menu from which you can choose the type of ad format. To make the ad truly realistic, you can also enter the name and profile image of the page.

Once created and saved the post it is possible, from the menu on the left:

  • view an interactive preview of the ad (through a URL) that you can share with your work group and friends.
  • send the draft to your mobile phone to be able to see what the ad looks like on your mobile.
  • verify that the text percentage complies with Facebook ad optimization standards.
  • access special functions (by clicking on “more”)
    • “View formats”: allows you to know all the characteristics of an image (dimensions, proportions, etc …).
    • “Find inspiration”: it allows you to scroll through different examples made by other creatives that can be taken as reference models.

Finally, the link of the test advertisement can be exported to the Business manager advertising account to create the ad of the advertising campaign.

At the time of creating this article, we specify that not all campaign objectives are active yet. It will therefore not be possible, for example, to create sponsorships of the type of interaction, traffic or like acquisition.
