The first new feature of the month concerns Instagram, which introduces “Social Library.” This is a tool that organizes all the content shared in chat, collections and likes to allow easier access.
They also showed the new profile cards: the most attentive know that this is nothing new, but this time they present a totally new look. On one side they collect profile information, while on the other side is the QR code that allows immediate connection with the user.
YouTube
It will move the Shorts “dislike” button to the three-dot menu and replace it with one to save videos. This is because the algorithm tends to show mostly videos that users are interested in, making dislikes almost totally useless.
Another new feature for Shorts is the ability to upload 3-minute videos, no longer just 60-second videos, also following preset templates that make content creation easier.

Threads
It introduces Loops, which is similar to X’s “Communities”, and allows you to create thematic groups for interested users. In this way you can join a community and interact with specific content, going beyond the generic tags already on the platform.
Threads also expands the editing time from 5 minutes to 15, allowing more flexibility. Finally, it will show users who are online with a green dot. Users don’t approve this new feature, which has been introduced to facilitate real-time communication.
TikTok
TikTok launches new settings for advertisements. One of these is Smart+, which helps people to manage AD creation, placement, and bidding, to make sure that advertisers just have to enter only the assets, budget, and targeting goals.

LinkedIn eliminates the “Top Voice” badge, a mark that certifies multiple users’ collaboration on an article. The reason is the numerous reports received, as the automatic assignment tended to issue the badge to people with no real expertise in the field. By December 7, 2024, LinkedIn will proceed with the removal of all Top Voice badges.
It adds new customization possibilities in video calls with the introduction of 10 new filters and 10 backgrounds. Some of them are very classic, others designed specifically to entertain or even to improve video quality in cases of low light.
Google optimizes the Quick View feature, which allows users to preview various content without having to go inside a website. It also applies this mode to recipes, allowing users to see ingredients and steps directly from the platform, without logging into cooking blogs. The goal is to incentivize continued use of the platform, reducing navigation to external sites.

Telegram
It allows companies to verify users’ phone numbers through the platform, which is a faster and more secure method than SMS. It also turns out to be cheaper, charging $0.01 per verified user.
The update also features gifts for users, a new interface design, both in chats and video calls.
X
X launches Radar, currently available only for users with Premium+ subscription accounts. This tool simplifies trend analysis thanks to real-time updates on trends and conversation development.
