Instagram Creator Week

How the algorithm works and the new monetization features for creators

Why does Instagram show you that content first? Why didn’t your post have the usual views? How does the Instagram algorithm work?

Here are some of the most popular questions from all creators and social media managers who daily try to understand how to improve their performances.

But surprise surprise: after years of silence, during the Creators Week, Instagram itself decided to involve us and make us understand what lies behind the experience on the app.

First of all, it is not a single algorithm, but rather a multitude of algorithms, processes and rankings.
The contents generated every day are so many that it is impossible for a user to view them all. So each section has a specific functionality.

FEED

It highlights posts from users you interact with the most through comments, likes and replies to stories, but also based on popularity and where the post is tagged.

EXPLORE

Shows the most relevant content based on trends and interests and therefore the type of post we have saved, commented on or liked. Then more videos or more photos will be proposed depending on the one with which you tend to interact more. As for the issues, we think in clusters. By relating the user's interests with those of another with whom there has been an interaction.

REELS

This section, clearly inspired by TikTok, shows those contents that entertain the most and from which it is difficult to break away. Unlike the Explore section, here the videos of creators with whom you have already had an interaction are shown and they try to give more and more space even to small creators.

Instagram and Creators

There is another big news from Facebook. Instagram wants to establish itself as a reference for all creators, whether they are beginners or their business is well underway.

While today the monetization of influencers is linked to the relationship that is established with a brand, or to the products they sell on their shop or to ads, the project now is to introduce an affiliate program.

This means giving creators more functionality for shops, allowing them to share products with the public and earn commissions on the sales they bring.

Another way to increase revenue is through Instagram Live Badges and Facebook Stars. This is to reward creators who bring more and more engagement to the platforms.

Although it is still difficult to understand, that of the creator is becoming a full-fledged job.

Twitter Blue

The new version of the paid social network

Have you heard of Twitter’s new paid service?
It is probably the first of a series of actions to relaunch the platform and introduce paid services, with the aim of diversifying revenue (mainly from display advertising) and not giving too much power to the advertising business.

There are not many features it includes, but the most important are certainly the ability to edit the tweet within 30 seconds of publication and their cancellation

It costs just $ 2.99 a month and is currently only available in Canada and Australia, but it’s just the beginning of a big transformation.

Will it soon be followed by the other social giants too? Although they have always fought for free accessibility and inclusion, this is not an option to be excluded. We’ll see!

TikTok recruiting

TikTok, the social phenomenon of the recent years, is putting itself into play to become much more than an app for entertainment and brand sponsorship.

Given the impact it is having in particular on Generation Z, why not make it a useful tool too?

The ways in which young people communicate have changed and the job’s worls is also trying to get closer to them.

This is why the Chinese social network wants to ride the social recruiting trend and is working on the development of a section dedicated to it.

This is an external page, accessible from the app, which connects young people and companies, thus giving the opportunity to bring together supply and demand in an alternative and more attractive way.

It seems that there are already many Big Tech giants interested and that some have already entered into partnerships, companies like Shopify.

Paper resume? Goodbye! Here to highlight your skills you need music, stickers and a creative montage.

Not many details are known yet, but one thing is certain: the language and way of interacting of young people changes daily and abruptly. All we can do is to follow them and adapt!

Buying on Pinterest? The shopping list is here!

The new version of the paid social network

Pinterest is now far from being just a place to dream and get inspired.

For years it has been trying to improve the user experience on the platform more and more, and increasingly aims to transform it into a real meeting point between brands and customers.

The Shopping List has also been recently introduced, which allows you to save products and receive notifications about price increases or decreases.
The Verified Merchant Program has also been added, which gives certain qualifications to retailers to make shopping even safer.

In the US and UK, the “The Goods by Pinterest” feature is also available, showing selected, limited edition products.
For now these features are not yet available in Italy, but we are confident they will arrive soon as it could significantly increase sales, especially in particular niches.
