Meta

Meta is rolling out new features on Instagram to increase safety for teenagers. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the platform will be able to detect underage accounts even when the declared age is inaccurate, automatically applying the stricter settings of “Teen Accounts.”

At the same time, Facebook has decided to shut down Community Chats in groups due to limited user interest. These spaces, designed to enable instant conversations as an alternative to posts, will be discontinued. As a result, interactions will once again focus on group posts or external messaging platforms. The change will affect both administrators and members, who will need to adapt to this new communication model. The update will take effect in the coming weeks, marking a significant shift in how chats are used on Facebook.

Instagram

A new ultra-wide video format is gaining traction on social media, featuring a resolution of 5120 × 1080 px: very wide but unusually “thin” in height.
This cinematic style has already been adopted by independent creators and major brands alike, making it ideal for showcasing landscapes, horizontally oriented products, and building a distinctive visual language.

Its main strength is clear: in a feed dominated by vertical videos, such unique content immediately stands out.
It remains to be seen whether it will become a new standard or remain just a creative experiment — in the meantime, it represents a powerful tool for anyone looking to explore visual storytelling. What do you think?

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is launching a new feature that allows users to translate messages directly within chats, without the need for external apps.
On iPhone, translation will be available in over 19 languages, including Italian, while on Android it will initially debut in 6 languages: English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic.
The process is simple: long-press a message and select “Translate.” On Android, users will also have the option to enable automatic translation for an entire conversation.
The company highlights that translations are processed locally on the device, ensuring user privacy by avoiding sending messages to WhatsApp servers. The rollout will be gradual across both platforms, with support for additional languages added over time.

Spotify

Spotify has announced major updates for free-tier users, easing some of the platform’s long-standing restrictions.
Among the most anticipated changes is the ability to search for and play specific songs directly, instead of being limited to shuffle mode.
New personalization features are also being added, such as dynamic playlists based on different times of day. Creative options will include the ability to edit playlist covers and share synchronized lyrics on social media.
The goal is clear: to make the free experience more engaging and appealing, while still encouraging users to upgrade to Premium.

Threads

Meta is adding a new feature to Threads that lets users search for specific profiles, posts, and mentions, making it easier to navigate and explore the platform.
To use it, simply visit someone’s profile and tap the search icon to instantly view all their published content.
With this update, Threads enhances its discovery capabilities, giving users more direct and targeted access to individual content.

TikTok

TikTok is introducing a new section called Content Insights, designed to help creators identify and understand emerging trends.
With constantly updated analytics tools, users can monitor which types of content are gaining traction before they go viral.
The goal is clear: to provide creators with the ability to craft more targeted and timely strategies, helping them break into the platform’s viral visibility circuits.

Google

Google has integrated Gemini, its AI-powered assistant, directly into Chrome for desktop on Mac and Windows — currently available only in the United States.
With this new feature, users can ask Gemini to summarize web pages, clarify complex concepts, manage multiple tabs, and even interact with apps like YouTube, Maps, and Calendar — all without leaving the browser.
